A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:

Kari successfully completed a MFA(by Research) at Monash University in 2007. She has held a number of solo exhibitions and her work has been exhibited in over 20 group exhibitions, notably the Korean Hey-Li Printmedia Festival in Soeul (2006) and Anhui University, China (2003). Kari has been a finalist in numerous art prize exhibitions: the 2006 Fleurieu Peninsula Biennale Water Prize, the Libris Artists Books Award, Artspace Mackay 2006 and Image As Text, Noosa Regional Gallery 2005, the 2004 John Leslie Art Prize (in collaboration with Anne Bennett), the 2003 R & M McGivern Art Prize, the 1997 Nillimbik and the1992 Diamond Valley Art Award.

Her work is represented in the Monash University Library collection, the City of Matsudo, Japan, Budget Corporation collection, RMIT, MLC, CGS, Hogg & Reid, Villagio Sant'Antonio ACT collections as well as in many private collections throughout Australia and in New York, USA. Kari has also been teaching visual arts at NMIT for 15 years.

In 2003 she was awarded the Sardinian Cultural Association Travelling Scholarship. The scholarship enabled her to travel around the coast of Sardinia and gather visual information for her MFA. The following year she was invited to take up a 6 month residency in an artists studio in Tuscany.
